VENADU
Dawood Shah Valli, Venadu
The village Venadu lies in the interiors of Sulurupeta near Sri Hari Kota (India's Space Launching Station) in Nellore District. The village is famous for the Dargah of Hazrat Dawood Shah Wali (Rahmatullah Alaih). What's so unique about this Dargah is the length of the Mazar of the aforesaid Buzurg. The mazar is a whopping 144 feet in length to be precise. Since the mazar is located in the interiors and was not cemented it used to wither away due to strong winds but would again regain its shape once the winds subsided. Recently the mazar was converted into a cemented one by none other than the Mozart Of Madras Mr A. R. Rahman who is a frequent visitor at the dargah.
NELLORE: Oscar winner and popular music director A R Rahman allegedly squabbled with a media person at Venadu dargah in Tada mandal on Thursday while the latter was taking his photographs.
Rahman is a regular visitor to the dargah and reached there at about 1 pm on Thursday from Chennai. When a vernacular reporter who belongs to the village tried to take photographs of Rahman, he reportedly instructed his followers to take away the camera from the reporter.

There was a heated discussion between the scribe and supporters of Rahman for sometime and finally the camera was given back. Rahman immediately left the place after offering prayers. A large crowd gathered to have a glimpse of the musical maestro.
Rahman has been visiting dargahs in Andhra Pradesh for quite sometime. Soon after his win, he came to Pedda dargah in Kadapa and later visited Nellore dargah.
